Ponggal Festival Celebrations

The Ponggal Festival Celebrations, or the “Harvest Festival” iscelebrated by many Indians all over the world.  “Ponggal” in Tamil means “boilingover” or “spill over”, which symbolises material abundance for thehousehold.  The Jurong Green CC IAEC celebrates this festival on Saturday,21 January 2012, from 9am to 8pm at the Jurong Green CC.  The Indian communitywill convene to cook ponggal rice, partake of it and distribute to all who arepresent.  The Guest of Honour for the event is the Advisor to Jurong GRC Grassroots Organisations, Mr Ang Wei Neng.
